1 Nephi Essay assignment:
Nephi undertook a physical journey, but he also experienced a spiritual journey. Write a cause and effect essay discussing some of the causes for Nephi's journey, and some of the effects. Include examples from both his physical journey, and his spiritual journey.

- Read as much of 1 Nephi as you can.
- Discuss in your family the week one discussion questions, found on the Weekly Discussion page and post your thoughts. If you are the only one in your family doing the class, post your thoughts on the blog.
- Write your thesis for your paper using the theme assigned.
- Write an introductory paragraph for your first paper. Look at the information on the "Introductions" page and the links found on that page for some ideas about writing an introduction and determining your thesis.
- For younger writers, write a brief summary of Nephi's journey, including the main events. Younger writers will have two weeks to complete this assignment.
